White Mountain Musical Arts invites the community to attend the eighth annual Memorial Weekend Concert featuring the Seacoast Wind Ensemble on Sunday, May 25th at 7:30 PM. The concert will be held at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center located on Bradley Street at Fryeburg Academy. The performance by the Seacoast Wind Ensemble - a Sousa-style 50-piece band - has been underwritten by Col. Karen and Lt. Col. Jim Umberger US Air Force Retired, whose generous donation permits the presentation of this exciting concert free of charge.

Memorial Weekend is the official time to remember and honor military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. It has often become tradition to include a salute to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime, including our current military personnel.

The concert program will honor area Veterans and provide a musical salute to thank those who have and continue to serve in the armed forces to preserve our nation and insure our freedom. A colorful display of the flags from the various branches of the armed services will be presented. The concert will end with the traditional playing of the Armed Forces Medley, saluting, in order of establishment, the United States Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

We Thank the generous underwriting of this
Annual Memorial Weekend Performance by
Col. Karen and Lt. Col. Jim Umberger
US Air Force Retired.
Because of their generosity, admission to this concert is free.

In the past, many of the audience have been inspired to make donations to
The WMMA Bach Festival & Chamber Concerts,
and we are grateful for this generous additional support, as well.

White Mountain Musical Art’s purpose in presenting live musical performances throughout the year is to awaken contemporary audiences to the vitality of 17th - 20th century music through historically informed performance of both familiar and unknown works. We hope through live performances, and educational programs to foster an awareness and appreciation of this music creating a cultural experience both for the immediate Mt. Washington Valley community and for the greater population of New Hampshire’s “North Country”.
